Best Neapolitan Cake

I’ve always had a thing for Neapolitan anything because it could be ice cream or cupcakes or even those weirdly satisfying wafer cookies you’d sneak from grandma’s cupboard yet this cake feels personal to me

The idea came to me on a random Tuesday and it was one of those days when you open the fridge ten times hoping dessert will magically appear yet it never does so I decided to make this cake instead and it became chocolate and vanilla and strawberry all coming together in one glorious and slightly wobbly and lovingly imperfect cake

Best Neapolitan Cake

The funny thing is the first time I made it I got the layers out of order so vanilla ended up on top while strawberry got squished in the middle and the result looked like total chaos yet it still tasted insanely good

Have you ever tried layering a cake while your toddler is “helping” by eating half the frosting because let me tell you it turns into an adventure and even though it’s messy you end up with memories that make it worth it

So if you’ve never made a Neapolitan Cake before you don’t need to stress since this recipe isn’t about perfection rather it’s about fun and color and flavor and that nostalgic mix that feels like childhood and birthdays and maybe a little bit of chaos

So grab your pans and let’s get messy together

Kitchen Equipment Needed :

To make Neapolitan Cake, you will need :

• Three 8-inch round cake pans
• Mixing bowls at least 3
• Whisk
• Electric mixer or hand mixer
• Measuring cups and spoons
• Rubber spatula
• Cooling rack
• Parchment paper
• Cake stand or serving plate

Tips for Neapolitan Cake :

Make sure your butter is at room temperature so it creams easily with sugar.

Do not overmix the batter after adding flour this helps keep the cake soft.

If you don’t have three cake pans, bake the layers one at a time.

Use natural strawberry puree for the best flavor, but strawberry jam also works well.

What to Eat with Neapolitan Cake ??

I love enjoying a slice of Neapolitan cake with a cup of hot coffee it balances the sweetness so well. My kids enjoy it best with a glass of cold milk, while my husband likes it with fruit juice when we have it after dinner.
