These Brown Sugar Cookies are soft and chewy because they are made with only three ingredients. First, they are made with butter and flour, and as a result, they melt in your mouth and are absolutely delicious.
Now have you ever tried using brown sugar in cookies instead of white sugar because if you haven’t then you’re about to fall in love and if you already have then you know exactly how magical it is .

Brown Sugar Cookies

Let me tell you something because these cookies were a total accident and I was originally trying to make classic sugar cookies which are the ones with the little colored sprinkles on top but I ran out of white sugar halfway through so that was a rookie move and the only thing left was some brown sugar sitting quietly in the back of the pantry so I decided to just go for it and honestly it turned out to be the best mistake I’ve made in a while

Brown Sugar Cookies

They came out warm and chewy and had this deep caramel-like flavor that felt completely different since it was the kind of taste that reminds you of wearing a cozy sweater on a rainy day so my kids ended up eating half the batch before the cookies even had time to cool down and to be honest I didn’t even try to stop them because there’s no judgment here if you do the same .

Ingredients

How to Make Brown Sugar Cookies

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats.
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy. This usually takes 2–3 minutes using a hand mixer or stand mixer.

Step 2

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Then stir in the vanilla extract.
In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon if using.

Step 3

Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined. Don’t overmix, or the cookies might get too dense.
Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to drop dough balls onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Step 4

Bake for 10–12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers might look a little soft, but they’ll firm up as they cool.
Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
