  • 2 pounds 85% lean ground beef

  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • ⅓ cup chili sauce such as Heinz
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 12 hamburger buns for serving

How to Make Crockpot Lunch Sloppy Joes

Step 1

Brown the beef: In a large pan on the stove, cook the ground beef over medium heat until it’s no longer pink. Break it into small pieces as it cooks. Drain any extra fat.

Step 2

Mix everything together: Put the cooked beef into your crockpot. Add the chopped onion, green bell pepper, ketchup, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, brown sugar, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and water. Stir well to combine everything.
