Have you ever bitten into a peach so juicy that it drips down your chin, Well, that was exactly me last summer when I was standing barefoot in my aunt’s backyard with sticky hands and absolutely zero regrets because she had this old, leaning tree that somehow still managed to grow the best peaches I’ve ever tasted even though I have no idea how since it’s basically held together with hope.

So one afternoon, we picked way too many peaches and by that I mean absurd amounts to the point where my arms were sore the next day. So what do you do when you’ve got a mountain of peaches staring you down You make jam, obviously.

Now, I’d never made peach jam before and let me tell you, Oh dear, it turned out to be pure gold in a jar.

Have you ever made your own jam If not, you’re in for something really good because it’s sticky and sweet and way easier than it sounds. Plus, your kitchen will smell like sunshine.

So let’s go ahead and make some magic outta peaches.

Ingredients :

  • 4 cups of ripe peaches peeled, pitted, and chopped
  • 2 cups of white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon vanilla extract or cinnamon for flavor twist

How to Make peach jam

Step 1

The first thing you need to do is prepare the peaches: Wash them well. To make them easier to peel, boil them for 30 seconds, then place them in ice water. The skins will slide off easily! Cut the peaches in half, remove the seeds, and then cut them into small pieces.

Step 2

I’ll now show you how to make the jam: In a large saucepan, combine the chopped peaches, sugar, and lemon juice. Stir well, then increase the heat to medium-high. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, stirring constantly to prevent it from burning.

Step 3

Simmer and Stir: Reduce heat to medium and keep the mixture at a simmer. Stir regularly for about 20–30 minutes. As the jam cooks, it will thicken. Use a spoon to mash the peaches a little, or leave them chunky if you like bits of fruit in your jam then Test the Jam: To check if it’s done, place a small spoonful on a plate and let it cool for a minute. Run your finger through it if it wrinkles and stays separated, it’s ready. If not, cook a few minutes more.

Finally, jar: Carefully pour the hot jam into clean jars. Let them cool to room temperature, then seal with lids. If you don’t plan to can the jam for long-term storage, refrigerate it after it cools.
